Oxygen started working with educational charity Inspire Education Business Partnership last year with a mission to encourage a broader cross section of young people to consider careers in the real estate sector. As part of this work, at the end of 2023, Oxygen’s Jonathan Barber and James Mohsen MRICS had the opportunity to visit Forest Gate Community School School in the London Borough of Newham. They talked to pupils in general terms about what the real estate sector is and how it functions. They also led class discussions on what the different career options look like, the paths towards them in terms of subject options, qualifications and skills required. As well as general employability skills and helping pupils prepare for their next steps.
Oxygen’s aim is to improve diversity within the estate sector by creating greater awareness of the opportunities available and making a job in real estate an attractive, achievable goal, as part of the firm’s commitment to equity and social value.
